About the Position

Ward 76 specializes in general internal medicine, and our patients have a broad spectrum of internal medical diagnoses. Our goal is the care and treatment of acutely ill patients. Here, you will have the opportunity to further develop broad competence in internal medicine. We have direct intake from the emergency department around the clock, as well as transfers from other departments within the hospital, meaning you will encounter and care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

We work in teams, learn from each other, and have good cooperation between professions where the patient's best interest is our common goal.

Job Description

The work as a nursing assistant is varied and involves qualified care and nursing of patients. We work in teams around our patients, consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and paramedics. Therefore, we place great importance on you being sensitive to others' needs; you sense, listen, and communicate information clearly and directly.

Your main tasks include, in addition to basic nursing, regular monitoring of vital parameters, nutritional needs, venous and capillary blood sampling, catheterization, wound dressing, ECG recording, mobilization, etc. Here, you will also work with patients under telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications

• Trained as a nursing assistant through the upper secondary school Care and Nursing Program (3 years, 2500 credits), the Care and Nursing Program at Komvux (three terms, minimum 1350 credits), or equivalent nursing assistant education. For other equivalent education within municipal adult education or older nursing assistant educations, an individual assessment is made.
• Experience from emergency care is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

You need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively be covered by transitional provisions for nursing assistants, to be employed with the title of nursing assistant. Otherwise, you may be employed in the occupational category of healthcare assistant.
