Do you want to work at the intersection of strategy, analysis, and critical societal infrastructure? Swedavia is now looking for a Capacity Planner who wants to take a central role in developing future airport capacity – with a focus on data-driven management, long-term planning, and business optimization.
What does the role entail? In this role, you are responsible for developing and implementing capacity strategies that ensure our airports meet both today's and tomorrow's needs. You work closely with our analysis team, which produces advanced analyses and forecasts, and your task is to translate these insights into strategic choices and decision support. You have overall responsibility for ensuring that the capacity picture is consolidated, anchored, and clearly communicated. The role involves taking a clear step from operational analysis work to a more overarching function. You need to understand and be able to evaluate analysis, but the focus is on interpreting, prioritizing, and using the results from a broader business and system perspective – rather than producing the analyses yourself.
You are expected to balance short-term operational needs with long-term development goals in a complex environment with many dependencies and stakeholders.
Travel in the role occurs to some extent.
Your main responsibilities:
Strategic Capacity Planning
- Work with long-term capacity strategies in line with Swedavia's business and development goals
- Ensure that capacity decisions are based on qualified analyses and lead to measurable business benefits
- Translate analysis results into priorities, choices, and management
Analysis-adjacent strategic work
- Work closely with the analysis team and act as the bridge between analysis and decision-making
- Identify development opportunities based on analysis-driven insights
Cross-functional collaboration and management
- Coordinate capacity-related initiatives between different parts of the organization
- Act as an advisor to management and decision-making forums in complex capacity issues
- Present and anchor analysis results to support business-critical decisions and priorities
Decision support and follow-up
- Produce qualified decision support based on analysis, scenarios, and business logic
- Follow up on capacity outcomes and conduct investigations as needed
Business optimization and risk analysis
- Identify risks related to capacity constraints and propose measures
Who are you?
You have:
- A strong analytical foundation and a desire to work more comprehensively and close to operations
- A Master of Science degree, for example in Industrial Economics, Logistics, Technical Physics, or Urban Planning, or other education considered equivalent
- 3–5 years of experience in analysis, capacity planning, or strategic work
- Experience working with data, forecasts, and decision support
- Ability to understand and evaluate advanced analysis, even if you do not produce it yourself in the role
- Experience driving and coordinating work in cross-functional environments
- Very good knowledge of the Office suite and experience with Power BI or similar tools
- Very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written
It is meritorious if you have experience with simulation, database management, or the transport and infrastructure sector.
Who are we looking for? You are analytical and have the ability to see the big picture in complex contexts. You thrive in the dialogue between specialists and decision-makers and are skilled at communicating complex information in a clear and operationally relevant way.
What do we offer you? At Swedavia, you will work on issues that are crucial for society's infrastructure and future travel. You will have a role with significant strategic influence where you, together with our analysts, transform data and insights into decisions that affect investments, capacity development, and profitability.
You will become part of an organization that drives development towards more efficient, sustainable, and future-proof airports – where your work makes a concrete difference.
