Within the Health and Medical Care Administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are united under a single administration and organized into county and local healthcare districts. The Skellefteå local healthcare district includes the Emergency Department, the Medical and Geriatric Clinic, the Rehabilitation Centre, the Psychiatric Clinic, 1177 (Healthcare Direct), the Centre for Surgical Operations, as well as primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these units work to provide good and accessible care.

We are currently seeking a Specialist Trainee (ST-läkare) in Internal Medicine or Geriatrics for the Medical and Geriatric Clinic in Skellefteå. This is one of the hospital's largest clinics, with approximately 300 employees. The clinic currently has 54–56 approved inpatient beds distributed across four wards with different medical specializations. Outpatient services are provided within internal medicine and geriatrics, and team-based concepts exist within various subspecialties. The clinic's responsibilities also include a physiological laboratory, day care, and dialysis services. Additionally, there is a research unit within the clinic, which is unique for a district hospital.

Job Description

As an ST-doctor with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

At the Medical and Geriatric Clinic, you, as an ST-doctor, participate in all areas of the clinic, both in outpatient and inpatient care. The foundation of our operations is general internal medicine, and our specialist areas include endocrinology, diabetes, gastroenterology, geriatrics, hematology, infectious diseases, cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, psychogeriatrics, and stroke.

In addition to the specialty-specific program, you will also participate in the EKA training. This is a program focusing on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and time for personal reflection for ST-doctors within Region Västerbotten.

Qualifications

For this role, you must have a Swedish medical license with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare by the start date. You have an interest in specializing in internal medicine or geriatrics.

We require good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1.

As a person, you are responsible and engaged. You have good teamwork skills and interest and drive for development and change work. You are able to work independently and are flexible.
