Nerikes Brandkår is a municipal association where Örebro, Kumla, Hallsberg, Lekeberg, Laxå, Askersund, Nora, Lindesberg, and Ljusnarsberg collaborate on rescue services and accident prevention. We are one of the larger rescue service associations in Sweden, with 28 fire stations, approximately 500 employees, and an operational area covering around 260,000 residents.

We are in a period of exciting expansion and development. The operational cooperation Rescue Region Bergslagen started in 2020, and in November 2023, the joint command center Seglet was completed, where we collaborate with the Police and SOS Alarm.

In early 2026, another fire station in Örebro, Station Öster, was inaugurated.

The Civil Protection Unit works to prevent accidents, primarily related to fire. This is done through collaboration with other authorities and organizations, conducting supervision according to LSO and LBE, and issuing permits according to LBE. The unit is also responsible for chimney sweeping matters. In addition, the unit provides information and advice to the public regarding fire safety.

We need to strengthen the unit with two additional fire engineers for a rewarding and enjoyable assignment.

Nerikes Brandkår actively works to be an equal workplace. Therefore, we welcome applicants with different backgrounds and prerequisites.
