Strömsund Pastorate is located in the heart of a vibrant rural area, close to forests, mountains, and water. Here, the road to a rehearsal might offer beautiful encounters with animals, or Sunday's postlude might be followed by a pleasant snowmobile ride or coffee by the fire.

Driven and ambitious choir singers await you here, along with beautiful church spaces and people who appreciate music. There are also many fine instruments available, including Hammarberg, Grönlund, and Steinway.

About the position

As a musician with us, you will play a central role in the life of the congregation. You bring the notes to life in services and church ceremonies. You lead and develop the choir activities in the direction you are passionate about – from experienced singers to those still finding their voice.

You will work both independently and together with colleagues in a pastorate where ideas are welcomed and where we help each other create meaningful meeting places.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has church music education at least at C-level or equivalent.
• Enjoys playing during services and church ceremonies.
• Has experience in and joy of leading a choir.
• Sees opportunities in developing music life in a rural congregation with both young and old.
• Values being of help to our parishioners in times of sorrow and joy.
