Do you want meaningful tasks that make a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from average!

The responsibility of the Care and Elderly Care Administration is to provide care, support, and assistance to older adults and people with disabilities, as well as support to their relatives. Our goal is to provide good conditions for an independent, stimulating, and secure living situation – around the clock. We are 2,500 employees who, in our various roles, provide support and care to the citizens who need it.

We are now looking for dedicated, responsible, and sensitive assistant nurses who want to work as night staff at the care and residential homes in Tunängen, Brotorp, and Alby äng.

The Role and Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse, you are responsible for providing good care and support where the residents' needs dictate the daily tasks. The work is characterized by responsibility and person-centered care with a rehabilitative approach, with the aim that residents can maintain and/or develop their abilities. The role also includes being the primary contact person for several residents, which involves creating and following up on implementation plans.

You are expected to be engaged in night interventions and participate in the preparation and follow-up of, for example, BPSD work, home reviews, night fasting measurements, and other routine self-controls. Practical tasks such as washing, cleaning, breakfast preparation, and cleaning of assistive devices are also part of the duties.

In your work, you act based on the operations' needs and direction with a clear focus on the residents. You work based on established decisions, plans, and guidelines and contribute to their creation and follow-up.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Meeting the residents' individual needs for care, nursing, and service.
  • Carrying out delegated and prescribed healthcare interventions according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).
  • Creating and following up on implementation plans in dialogue and participation with the residents.
  • Daily documentation in Lifecare according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and performing risk assessments related to both the residents and the work environment.
  • Providing social and emotional support to the residents.
  • Being close to the individual and their relatives, working with empathy, sensitivity, and understanding of individual needs and wishes, and ensuring that interventions are carried out in the best possible way.

The work is based on a four-week basic schedule, and we assume that you are available to work throughout the year. The position involves night work with a full-time equivalent of 85%. Working hours are scheduled within the timeframe of 22:00–07:00.

The role of night staff involves working from your base unit and throughout the entire building, supporting your colleagues with tasks that arise.

What We Offer

We offer a workplace that promotes both well-being and development. You will have access to wellness benefits in the form of wellness allowance and shoe subsidy.

We actively work to create a workplace where all employees have the right conditions to perform good work, while promoting a good work environment and a climate characterized by our core values. The work is team-based and involves close collaboration between colleagues, administrators, deputy unit manager, unit manager, and HSL personnel. Together, we continuously work to develop the operations and ensure high quality.

Who You Are

You have education from the Care and Nursing Program or an assistant nurse education via Komvux/Vocational College. You have at least 1 year of work experience in night work within care and elderly care.

Other requirements:

  • You are experienced in documentation according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
  • You have experience working in elderly care, preferably from care and residential homes.
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and can adapt your communication to the recipient and situation.

Merits:

  • Education in palliative care.
  • Experience working in the Lifecare system.
  • Delegation for tracheostomy, PEG, and ventilator.
  • Education and/or experience in dementia, social psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, or work with multi-morbid patients.

We are looking for someone who thrives in flexible and developmental work and has good stress tolerance. You have a genuine interest in providing good service, building nice relationships, and contributing to the quality of life for our residents. As a person, you are independent, humble, meticulous, and responsible. You are strongly committed to elderly care and see the unique needs of each individual. You will become part of a dedicated team where everyone strives to do that little extra, which means it is important that you have good teamwork skills, a pedagogical approach, and contribute to a positive work environment.

The work requires initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. You are confident in yourself and comfortable working with people who need continuity, structure, and care.
