The Cultural Administration works to ensure that culture, nature, and cultural heritage are part of everyone's daily lives. To carry out our mission regarding art, culture, nature, and cultural heritage, the core operations consist of two departments, each divided into several units. To coordinate cross-cutting issues, we work in a matrix structure, where our work with municipalities, children and youth, collection management, and Agenda 2030 are some examples. The Art and Culture Department offers knowledge and competence within the field of art and culture as support to municipalities, civil society, and other actors for the implementation and promotion of development within the cultural sector.

Job Description

We are now looking for a new colleague with competence and knowledge in metal conservation. The work involves a broad range of conservation tasks such as inventories and the preparation of care and maintenance plans, conservation, and restoration. This entails a lot of studio work, but also fieldwork involving overnight stays. It may also include teaching and supervising students during internships. As an experienced conservator, you will calculate and plan projects that you and your colleagues will work on.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a conservator education, at least a BSc/BA, and at least three years of experience in qualified metal conservation. We also want you to have experience in calculations, planning, and project management. You must be able to provide documentation of completed projects, primarily within outdoor public art and buildings, but also church furnishings and collection management.

You need to be able to lead your own projects where you manage others, and be willing to step into other people's projects even outside your specialization. The operations at SVK are complex and place high demands on flexibility and adaptability. We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as the ability to collaborate and build relationships.

Your work involves written documentation, and you may be required to present it in national or international contexts. Therefore, you must be able to express yourself well in a Scandinavian language and/or English, both orally and in writing.

You must be able to handle physical challenges such as working at heights and handling heavier lifts. A Class B driver's license is required. If you enjoy working with varied conservation tasks and managing several parallel projects simultaneously, you will thrive with us!
