Construction Worker for Älmhult Municipality

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a construction worker, you will work with the repair, maintenance, and renewal of the municipality's water and sewage pipe network - both planned work and emergency interventions. The position is practical and varied, with a focus on pipe laying and construction work.

Main responsibilities:

• Lay, repair, and maintain the municipal water and sewage pipe network according to current standards and regulations
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs during operational disruptions, such as flooding, sewage blockages, and water leaks
• Replace valves, service lines, and manholes
• Work preparation and planning of tasks
• Perform risk assessments and follow safety measures according to the work environment plan
• Document operational disruptions and interventions in the business system

You may also need to assist with:

• Valve operation
• Installation and replacement of water meters
• Flushing and filming of sewage pipes
• Other tasks within operations and maintenance

On-call duty may be included in the position, where snow clearing and anti-icing may also become relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Education within construction and infrastructure and practical experience from the construction industry, or someone who has acquired their competence through long professional experience
• Ability to read and interpret drawings as well as technical documents and specifications
• Good computer skills - you have experience working digitally, master the Office package, and learn new operation and monitoring systems easily
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing is a requirement
• Category B driver's license is a requirement

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in pipe laying
• Experience in operations, maintenance, and/or projects within the water and sewage industry
• Category BE or C driver's license, YKB (professional driving qualification), machine operator certificate for wheel loaders
• Licens for welding PE pipes
• Other relevant training and certificates for the operations, such as Hot Work, Road Work, and Safe Excavation.

Interviews will be held on August 17 and 18.

Questions regarding the position will be answered until week 26 and during week 32.
