Our Operations

Hemmestaskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F–9) divided into two units: one for grades F–5 and one for grades 6–9, with one principal and two deputy principals. The school has 620 students and is developing a clear F–9 perspective.

We actively work with inclusive solutions that permeate the entire school day. The Student Health Team (EHT) is divided into F–6 and 7–9, with a mission that also encompasses an F–9 perspective. Trust, communication, and the courage to think outside the box are key success factors.

Your Role

The role of school nurse includes conducting health checks and health conversations, monitoring, assessments, and administering vaccinations according to the national vaccination program. Duties also include reception work, documentation, and administration. Furthermore, you are responsible for open reception with counseling, medical assessments, performing simple healthcare interventions, and organizing and conducting school doctor consultations.

At Hemmestaskolan, two school nurses share the overall responsibility, with this specific position focusing on grades F–5.

The role also involves being part of the Student Health Team and working in close collaboration with other professions within student health services and other school staff. You will contribute your expertise to the school's preventive and health-promoting work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Your Experience

You are a registered nurse and a specialist nurse with a focus on healthcare for children and adolescents, or a specialist nurse qualified as a district nurse.

Experience as a school nurse is meritorious.

You work independently and take responsibility for your work by planning, structuring, and prioritizing your tasks, as well as driving your processes forward. You are communicative and receptive, easily adapting your communication to the recipient, thereby creating trusting relationships. Collaboration is a natural part of who you are, and you treat students, guardians, and colleagues in a professional and efficient manner.
