Role and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Service Technician in Electrical Power and Relay Protection based in Västerås, with a primary work area in the Mälardalen region and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide services that increase operational security, availability, and profitability while reducing environmental impact in customers' production facilities. We cover the entire lifecycle of the facility and help our customers work with continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

• Configuration and testing of relay protection
• You are independently responsible for configuring relay protection in installations within distribution, infrastructure, and industry, ensuring that the configuration meets customer specifications and requirements. You also work with testing the functionality of relay protection and are responsible during FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
• Technical support and service
• You participate in service assignments and provide technical support to customers regarding relay protection, including troubleshooting, advice, and action proposals.
• Work with different types of relay protection
• You work with relay protection for switchgear in the voltage range of 0.4kV – 40kV, which requires broad technical competence and understanding of different system solutions.
• Sales support and quotation work
• You act as a technical resource in quotation work, especially during upgrades and reconstructions of power equipment, contributing expertise in relay protection.

Your Background

• You have an electrical background and experience working with circuit diagrams.
• You have extensive experience with different types of relay protection.
• You have experience testing protection with Omicron or similar test equipment, and good knowledge of the IEC 61850 protocol.
• You have experience with commissioning, testing, and plant construction, and know how to handle and interpret measurement data.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Social, meticulous, and safety-conscious.
• Positive and empathetic in contact with both customers and colleagues.
• Thrives in a mobile job that involves travel.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).
• Experience with ABB's portfolio and ABB's power products is an advantage.
• Experience with power quality measurements in buildings and industry is an advantage.
