About the unit

The Livgardesgruppen's task is to develop and maintain four home guard battalions, as well as support the voluntary defense organizations within Stockholm County.

We are now looking for a Material Handler to be based in Kungsängen. Your main responsibility will be to manage the battalions' material.

About the position

To thrive in this role, you are unpretentious and helpful, with a strong desire to learn new things. You should be interested in data and technology, while also being service-oriented, meticulous, responsible, and security-conscious.

As a material handler, you have good administrative skills and enjoy a mix of computer work as well as physical work with material handling in warehouses throughout the year.

The position involves many physically demanding lifts, requiring good physical fitness and endurance.

Main responsibilities

Your duties are carried out within the logistics area with material services in focus:

• Handle the home guard battalions' material.
• Participate in material inventories and inspections.
• Support the home guard battalions regarding material issues.
• Resolve other occurring tasks at the unit.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Approved upper secondary education or equivalent education/experience considered equivalent by the employer.
• Good computer skills (Office package, Outlook).
• Good administrative ability.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Good physical fitness.
• Hold a B-driver's license for manual transmission.

Personal qualities

You are responsible, proactive, and have a sense of order and routine. Since some of our tasks are ordered with short notice, you need to be flexible.

You solve tasks both alone and in a group, which requires good cooperation skills as well as the ability to work independently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious qualifications

• Experience from the Home Guard or voluntary defense organizations.
• Military work permits, including forklift, truck, and wheel loader.
• Work experience from handling material, both practically and in digital tracking systems.

Employment type: Permanent employment with a 6-month probation period (for those not already employed by the agency).

Work location: Upplands-Bro, Kungsängen. Unit: Livgardesgruppen.

Position type: Civilian, full-time.

Salary: Individual salary setting.

Start date: By agreement.

The position involves evening and weekend duties periodically. It cannot be combined with service within the Home Guard if this is relevant to you.

The Middle Military District (MR M) is a wartime unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of the Commander with staff, six training groups for training and support of the home guard, and approx. 7,000 home guard soldiers organized in eleven battalions and a number of independent units.

The Commander of the Middle Military District with regional staff leads subordinate units, cooperates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders who resolve tasks within the region. The region also acts as a link between the Swedish Armed Forces and civil society, with active cooperation with the county administrative board and the region. If necessary, MR M leads operations, for example in national crisis situations and support to society. The military district resolves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.

The Middle Military District's organization and area of operation cover the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and home guard units exist in each county.
