This is a job for you if you are driven, want to develop in your professional role, and contribute to the health and quality of life for those living with us. Here you get good working hours, work independently, and have the freedom to shape your working days.
At Vardaga, you also get engaged colleagues, skilled managers, training, career opportunities, and several benefits.
In the center of the Råby district, you will find the nursing home Pilfinksgården. Here there are 47 apartments spread over three floors and six units. Each unit has seven or eight pleasant apartments. Each unit has access to two large furnished balconies, one with a view of Råby center and the other with a view over the Garden of Senses, as well as a shared kitchen and pleasant spaces for socializing and meals. Here live people with dementia, and we offer individually adapted care with heart, integrity, and choice.
At Pilfinksgården, two nurses work 100% during daytime. We work in close teams with a physiotherapist and occupational therapist who are on duty Monday-Friday. Sara, one of the nurses, will work as a unit manager for one year, which is why we are now looking for a substitute for her from August 2026 to August 2027.
We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that everyone working here is trained in dementia and interaction via the Dementia Academy.
Activity coordinators work systematically with activities, and we have two activity coordinators who develop and carry out meaningful activities with our residents.
We have a cleaner who keeps our premises and residents' apartments clean and tidy so that nursing assistants can focus on care, support, social activities, and documentation.
About the role
You are the hub around the residents' health and medical care efforts and work to provide quality of life. You are responsible for ensuring that medical orders are followed. You regularly conduct risk assessments and follow-ups to ensure good quality in the operations.
Collaboration and support
You are part of a team with care staff, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. An important role for you is to coach and educate the care staff so that together you give each resident the best possible life. In this job, you work closely with the residence's group managers who are responsible for the care staff. Our group managers also coach and work together with the teams in daily work.
Getting to know the residents
Understanding the residents' wishes and seeing small changes in their health and disease condition is often crucial for correct assessments and decisions.
Clear routines
To create security and clarity for you as a nurse, there is extensive support in the form of practical and easy-to-apply routines, policy documents, and checklists.
As a new nurse with us, you participate in our digital introduction program together with your mentor to ensure that you get a clear introduction with the goal of quickly getting into the work and our routines.
Your experience and knowledge
You are a licensed nurse, and we would like you to have worked a few years in elderly care. Our residents are often multi-morbid, which requires that you have both overview knowledge of different diseases and conditions and an interest in the aging person. Good computer skills and experience with documentation are important.
We wish that you:
like to work independently and have the freedom to shape your working days
are confident in your role as a nurse and can make quick decisions and have a discussion with the responsible doctor
take own initiatives, have thick skin, and dare to take charge
like to have a leadership role and support your colleagues
are used to structuring and organizing your work.
