About Viksjöskolan

Viksjöskolan is a municipal school for grades 7–9 with approximately 670 students. Our school has ample resources, including special education teachers, social pedagogues, school psychologists, counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, and IT technicians.

Viksjöskolan has its own kitchen where the food is appreciated by both students and staff. We serve three dishes daily, along with plenty of various vegetables and often freshly baked bread.

Job Description

Viksjöskolan is looking for an engaged school nurse who wants to work part-time. Perhaps you want to combine this role with another job, or wish to work part-time for other reasons. Here, you will have an experienced colleague who has worked at Viksjöskolan for many years and who will be a great support in getting familiar with our routines.

As a school nurse, you work preventively and health-promoting based on Järfälla Municipality's basic program for student health. The medical tasks include, among other things, health visits, open clinic hours, administering vaccinations, planning school doctor clinics, and chairing medical student cases.

In your role as a school nurse, you work actively together with the school's interdisciplinary student health team to support students in reaching their goals, thriving, and feeling well. You collaborate with other staff, guardians, other organizations, and authorities outside the school to create a safe school environment that promotes health and learning. Great emphasis is placed on preventive work and working methods that support and stimulate a good pedagogical, social, and health-promoting school environment.

You will be offered supervision in small groups as well as regular meetings with the municipality's other school nurses and centrally employed student health personnel. The administration has a responsible person for EMI (Emergency Medical Incidents) as well as a school doctor.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in health care for children and adolescents, district nurse, or school nurse. Previous experience working as a school nurse is meritorious.

You have a strong sense of responsibility, are meticulous, and flexible. You feel comfortable working independently but have a good ability to collaborate and cooperate. You communicate easily and meet people well, and you enjoy working with children, adolescents, and their guardians.

You should be able to work with basic computer programs and have experience with electronic patient records.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

The position requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
