Here you will have the opportunity to work in a committed and cohesive team. You will belong to Availability Group 94, where we are 23 employees. Together, we perform pre-flight checks and technical maintenance on the JAS 39 C/D/E.

About the unit

The Air Maintenance Unit is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of our Gripen aircraft, as well as all maintenance equipment associated with the aircraft. The unit also handles daily flight service, including pre-flight checks and readiness. Our work is primarily focused on national missions, but international deployments also occur.

The Air Maintenance Unit consists of unit leadership, the 11th and 12th Air Maintenance Companies, the aircraft workshop, and Availability Group 94. The aircraft workshop consists of four sections, including an aircraft workshop where we perform heavy maintenance on the JAS 39.

Main Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be part of one of our teams performing corrective and preventive maintenance, as well as pre-flight checks, on the JAS 39 Gripen aircraft. REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed technical education at the upper secondary level and/or equivalent knowledge assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Driver's license, class B minimum (manual).
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Experience in aircraft maintenance.

The position entails requirements for physical and mental fitness. Travel for work and personal training occurs. Since both the position and duties are linked to a wartime organization, you will also be assigned to wartime duties within our organization. This means, among other things, that you will receive training on what is expected of you during heightened readiness.

Skaraborgs Flygflottilj is a versatile and unique air wing. It hosts combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resources for transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and specific training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many operations. In Sweden, operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport air cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
