Tech Lead / Lead Data Engineer for Masterdata Project

We are looking for a senior Tech Lead / Lead Data Engineer for an upcoming masterdata/foundational data project in a complex and socially critical environment.

This role is perfect for you if you have a strong technical background in data engineering, integration, and system development, and thrive in a leading yet still hands-on position. You will work closely with developers and architects, actively contribute to the technical solution, and help create structure, direction, and quality in the delivery.

The project involves building solutions for shared data models, foundational data/masterdata, and integration between various data sources and systems. Requirements and prerequisites may be partially unclear initially, so we are looking for someone who is confident in translating complex business needs into feasible technical architecture and practical implementation.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

• Set the technical direction and drive the technical delivery forward
• Work hands-on together with developers and data engineers
• Contribute to design, coding, solution choices, and technical decisions
• Create structure around data models, foundational data, and integrations
• Ensure solution quality throughout the entire development process
• Support the team in breaking down complex needs into concrete technical activities
• Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and other technical interests

We are looking for someone with experience in

• Tech lead responsibilities or technical leadership in complex development environments
• Data architecture, information modeling, or data modeling
• Masterdata, foundational data, data quality, or shared data definitions
• Integrations, APIs, ETL/ELT, and databases
• System development or data engineering in hands-on roles
• Leading developers or data engineers while simultaneously contributing operationally to implementation

We believe you are

You are a senior and confident technical profile who can combine architecture with practical development. You are used to taking responsibility, creating structure, and making technical decisions, but at the same time have a non-hierarchical attitude and enjoy working closely with the team in daily work.

You do not necessarily need to have had the exact same title previously. What is important is that you have experience building data-heavy solutions in complex system landscapes and can take a leading role in both design and implementation.

Merits

• Experience from the public sector or authority environments
• Experience in security-classified or regulated environments
• Previous work with masterdata/foundational data projects
• Experience with shared data platforms or larger integration landscapes
• Experience working in environments with many stakeholders and unclear requirement pictures
