About the position
The Health Professions Unit plays a vital role in the care provided at Karolinska University Hospital. We are now looking for a physiotherapist for the Section of Cancer, Infection, Inflammation, and Women's Health in Huddinge.
Here, you will work within gynecology, obstetrics, and urology in a highly specialized operation where physiotherapy within pelvic floor health is a central part of the treatment. You will meet patients with complaints from the pelvic floor muscles, bladder, and bowel, as well as patients with pain issues. You will also work with follow-up of women who have suffered severe birth tears according to regional guidelines.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Assess and treat patients with complex pelvic floor dysfunction and pain issues
- Perform vaginal and rectal examinations
- Develop individual treatment plans based on the patient's needs
- Provide counseling, education, and support within rehabilitation and pelvic floor health
- Collaborate closely with gynecologists, midwives, urotherapists, sexologists, and counselors
- Supervise Swedish and international students as well as junior colleagues
- Contribute to the development of care programs and workflows based on evidence and the patient's needs.
The assignment involves work with manual treatment, body awareness, exercise, and pain management.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed physiotherapist with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare
- Further education in pelvic floor anatomy, function, and health status through university education or training at this clinic
- Experience and education in pelvic floor anatomy, function, and health status
- Good knowledge of pain and its mechanisms.
Merits:
- Master's degree and/or specialist competence.
