Kunskapsskolan in Sweden, which also includes Kunskapsgymnasiet, started its first schools in 2000 and today has 29 primary schools and six upper secondary schools with 1,350 employees and 14,400 students. Kunskapsskolan is owned by its founder, Peje Emilsson, and his family.

Lilla Kunskapsskolan Västerås is now looking for a School Librarian.

For the 2026/2027 school year, we are opening the doors to a new school in Västerås. The school will start with grades F-4 (preschool class to grade 4), and the ambition is to grow into a fully expanded school with 408 students distributed across grades F-6 (preschool class to grade 6).

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in Library and Information Science (or equivalent as we assess).
• A natural aptitude for pedagogical work and experience speaking in front of groups/classes.
• Experience and interest in collaborating with subject teachers.
• In-depth knowledge of children's and young adult literature, literature mediation, and the ability to inspire reading in the digital age.
• Expertise in media and information literacy.
• Motivation and experience taking initiative to develop the operations.
• You are well-versed in AI-based search tools and can support students/colleagues with questions related to AI.

Meritorious qualifications

• We prefer that you have a few years of experience working as a librarian.
• Experience supporting staff and students in working with library systems. Kunskapsskolan uses Welib.
• Experience working in an environment with close collaboration with colleagues and subject teachers.

Position Details

The position is a permanent part-time role at 25 %.
