Staff Member for Habiliteringscenter Brommaplan – Children

Habiliteringscenter Brommaplan is a unit within Habilitering & Hälsa, a service within Region Stockholm with special competence regarding disabilities. The unit specializes in autism, intellectual disability, and motor impairment. The habilitation creates conditions for the patient to function in the best possible way in their daily life. The challenge with us lies in the breadth of the patient's individual needs, which therefore offers opportunities for broad experience as well as professional and personal development. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of social workers, physiotherapists, psychologists, special education teachers, and speech therapists, collaborating to provide interventions for the patient individually and in groups. We serve people living in the districts of Norra Innerstaden, Kungsholmen, Bromma, Hässelby-Vällingby, as well as Ekerö Municipality.

About the position:

As an employee in our team for patients with autism, you will primarily work with consultation for parents and networks around children and young people. Our interventions often involve providing both the patient and parents, individually or in groups, knowledge about diagnosis and functioning, supporting the network regarding appropriate handling and demand-setting, providing parent-supporting interventions based on the child's and family's situation, working with adaptations, preparation, and clarification in the environment, promoting communication and interaction, and in various ways promoting the mental well-being and resilience of patients and parents.

Our patients often have complex needs where collaboration is required, not only within the team, but with care neighbors, municipal operations, and other authorities. Leading and participating in network meetings, such as SIP meetings, is part of the work. Depending on your basic profession, other more job-specific tasks may be added.

The position is a fixed-term appointment for 11 months with the possibility of extension.

About you:

You should have a relevant university degree as an occupational therapist, speech therapist, psychologist, special education teacher, or social worker with clinical experience of our target group. You should have several years of knowledge about autism, from child and adolescent psychiatry or a specialized autism team within habilitation, or equivalent experience, as well as a great interest in human abilities. Experience in clarifying pedagogy, problematic school absenteeism, and applied behavior analysis is meritorious. You have good collaboration skills and thrive working both independently and in teams. You have a good ability to organize and structure your work and find it easy to meet the job's requirements for documentation and written communication. We assume that you work based on scientifically proven methods and clinical experience. The work requires interest and ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers and municipal operations. The work is characterized by variation and requires the ability to be flexible and initiative-taking based on the patient's focus. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

In patient-oriented work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

• A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
• Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
