Job Description

AECOM is currently looking for a Design Manager (Rock/Tunnel) to join our transport team.

As a Design Manager, you are driven by actively working with design coordination in a multidisciplinary environment. In your role as Design Manager, you will be responsible for and lead the design work together with our design team. The role involves close collaboration with the client and project management, where you support activities such as schedule management, quality assurance, and risk management.

You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting and largest infrastructure projects in Sweden within road and rail sectors. We operate in a strong international environment, and English is used daily as we collaborate with colleagues around the world (primarily in Europe).

Key Responsibilities as Design Manager at AECOM:

• Represent AECOM's design team towards the client
• Identify and communicate overall client requirements to AECOM's team, and monitor the implementation and fulfillment of these requirements
• Coordinate and host meetings with the client
• Coordinate and lead internal design meetings with all technical leads
• Identify and monitor interface management between different technical disciplines
• Quality assurance of produced documentation and ensure that documents are well-coordinated across different technical disciplines
• Identify and communicate project changes
• Actively work on upselling in our assignments and contribute to business development

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• University degree or Master of Science in Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience working as a design engineer within rock and tunnel engineering
• At least 3 years of experience working as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects (road or rail)
• Very good proficiency in English and Swedish, both spoken and written
• Experience in preparing tender documents and execution drawings for construction contracts
• Good knowledge of AMA Anläggning (Swedish construction standards)
• Good knowledge of ABK09 (Swedish standard contract for construction)

Candidates with less than 3 years of experience in design management are welcome to apply and will be considered for the role of Tunnel Engineer/Rock Technician or Assistant Design Manager.
