We are now recruiting substitutes for preschools, primary schools, leisure centers, and high schools for the autumn semester. This advertisement is particularly aimed at you who are a certified teacher, studying to become a teacher, or have experience and the ability to teach, as the need is great within primary education.

YOUR ROLE

As a substitute with us, you can work in various settings depending on your interest, experience, and availability. You apply through a single advertisement and choose which geographical areas and facilities you are interested in.

Preschool:

In the preschool, you help create a safe, playful, and educational environment together with permanent staff. You are close to the children in their exploration, support them in play and learning, and are a positive, present adult in everyday life, both indoors and outdoors.

Primary School:

In primary schools and leisure centers, the assignment varies depending on needs. You may conduct lessons based on planning, support individual students, small groups, or work in leisure centers where you together create safe and meaningful activities before and after school hours. Currently, we have a particularly high need for you who feel confident leading instruction and taking responsibility in the classroom.

High School:

As a substitute in high school, you lead instruction when permanent teachers are not present. You follow the planning, maintain structure in the classroom, and contribute to a study environment where students have the opportunity to succeed. Assignments vary in scope and suit you who want to work flexibly or develop within the teaching profession.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

For work in preschools, primary schools, and leisure centers, we are looking for you who want to work with children and young people and contribute to a safe and developmental everyday life. Experience from school, preschool, or other work with children is meritorious, as is pedagogical education or ongoing studies, but it is not a requirement. For work in primary schools, we prefer that you have a teaching certificate, are studying to become a teacher, or have experience and the ability to teach and lead groups.

The most important thing is that you are a confident and sensitive adult who can quickly adapt to new situations and create calm, structure, and good relationships in the groups you work with. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

For work in high schools, we are looking for you who are teacher-educated, studying to become a teacher, or have another pedagogical background, alternatively have experience leading instruction. You are responsible, confident in your interactions with teenagers, and have an easy time building relationships and collaborating with colleagues. Your ability to meet students in a respectful and professional manner makes you an important resource in our schools.

You must have the ability and physical prerequisites to actively be responsible for the safety and well-being of children and students through continuous supervision, risk assessment, and quick actions when necessary.

Skellefteå Municipality is part of a Finnish and Sami administrative area. Language skills in Finnish and Sami, as well as cultural competence in these areas, are therefore meritorious.

GOOD TO KNOW

This advertisement is aimed at you who want to work as a substitute during the autumn semester with the possibility of continuation. Selection and matching take place continuously based on the needs of the operations.

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer a few selection questions and attach an updated CV.

To work within educational activities, an extract from the criminal record is required. You order the extract yourself from the Police. If you have a digital mailbox, you can receive the extract digitally, which is often faster. It is valid for six months and needs to be renewed thereafter.
