About the position

We are looking for a staff member within eye care with experience with children to join our operations. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of pediatric neurological and pediatric oncological conditions within both outpatient and inpatient care as well as intensive care.

The work takes place in teams where the focus is on neuro-ophthalmic investigation and treatment of children and adolescents within pediatric neurology and oncology. At the team clinic, you are responsible for performing clinical status, OCT, fundus photography, and visual fields prior to the ophthalmologist visit.

An important part of the job is joint planning with other professions around the patients as well as administrative tasks such as bookings from the waiting list and planning of consultation cases in inpatient care and the pediatric intensive care unit. You will also work with chat and telephone advice to patients, parents, and other professional groups within the hospital.

If needed, you will have your own clinic when the ophthalmologist is on official duties or on leave.

Observation (hospitation) before employment is conducted to ensure that the team spirit feels good for both parties, and a probation period of 6 months applies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse
  • Professional experience in eye care
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Good ability to meet children with special needs

Merits:

  • Specialist nurse in eye care
  • Experience in pediatric care
  • Orthoptist degree
  • Extensive experience with OCT, fundus cameras, and various visual field methods
  • Technical knowledge of the equipment used in eye care.
