The Environmental and Building Administration is a joint administration for the municipalities of Hultsfred and Vimmerby. We work with issues concerning environmental and health protection, food, tobacco, building permits, detailed planning, housing adaptation, maps, and surveying.

We are now looking for a Food Inspector who, together with us, wants to work towards sustainable societal development.

Job Description

As a Food Inspector, you will be part of a team responsible for control according to food legislation and sales supervision based on the Tobacco Act. You will inspect facilities, process registrations, investigate complaints and suspected food poisoning cases, and provide advice and information to businesses.

The work involves frequent contact with businesses, citizens, and other stakeholders, whom you will meet in a professional manner.

We use the case management system EDP Vision.

Your employment will be with Hultsfred Municipality, and the position involves working in both Hultsfred and Vimmerby. We have offices in both locations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education within the food sector, such as as an agronomist, environmental scientist, or another university education that we deem relevant.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with supervision and control based on food legislation, drinking water regulations, or other related legislation.

You are an initiative-taking and solution-oriented person who can work both independently and in a team. The position involves a lot of outward-facing work where delivering good service is also important. The work presupposes that you have a good ability to perform trustworthy authority work in meetings with people and to express yourself well in speech and writing.

Otherwise, a B driving license is required.
