We are looking for a medical physicist to join our physics team, which currently consists of five medical physicists. Together, we work on clinical tasks, quality controls, and development projects in close collaboration with oncologists, nurses, and engineers. You will be offered continuous competence development in the form of courses, conferences, and further education.

The radiotherapy department is expanding from two to three linear accelerators, and we will soon introduce a surface scanning system as well as new treatment methods. For external beam radiotherapy, we use TrueBeam machines with Aria/Eclipse, as well as CT for imaging, which will also be replaced shortly. With this expansion, you will work with the latest technology and software.

As a medical physicist at a smaller hospital, you work with a broad spectrum of tasks while having the opportunity to specialize in one or more areas. This provides an stimulating mix of clinical work and development projects. Your duties include participating in patient flow in collaboration with nurses and doctors. You will also work on method development for new treatment techniques and QA methods. In addition, you provide support in dose planning and treatment, and perform quality controls of equipment. The work may also involve streamlining work methods, for example through scripting.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed medical physicist, or who will receive your license shortly. You have an interest in clinical medical physics work, are responsible, thrive working independently and in close collaboration with others. Previous experience in radiotherapy is meritorious but not a requirement. We value personal suitability, teamwork skills, and a service-oriented attitude.

Medical Radiation Physics is a section belonging to the Oncology Clinic at Kalmar County Hospital. We are a total of nine medical physicists working within the various parts of the profession.
