Habiliteringscenter Södertälje Adult seeks Occupational Therapist

Do you, as a newly graduated or experienced occupational therapist, want to develop your career with us?

At Habiliteringscenter Södertälje Adult, we work with adolescents and adults with disabilities. We work in a cross-professional team that includes psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, and speech therapists, in addition to occupational therapists. We serve residents in the municipalities of Salem, Södertälje, and Nykvarn.

Through advice, support, and treatment, we create the prerequisites for patients to function in the best possible way in their daily lives. We are specialized in intellectual disability (ID), autism (ASD), and mobility impairment (MI).

We are now looking for an occupational therapist to join our ID/MI team!

Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist in our ID/MI team, you will assess and evaluate patients' abilities and needs, plan therapeutic measures, implement them, and issue certificates when necessary. For example, you will provide advice, support, information, and knowledge about disabilities to patients and their relatives. Together with patients and relatives, you will develop strategies and, if necessary, test, prescribe, and follow up individually adapted assistive devices.

The habilitation center offers interventions both individually and in groups, physically at the clinic, digitally, over the phone, in the patient's home environment if needed, or at another suitable location. The work is performed individually but also in collaboration with team colleagues, relatives, or networks.

Collaborating with other healthcare providers, municipal services, or authorities is part of the job, as our patients may have needs that require such cooperation.

We currently have three occupational therapists at HC Södertälje, which provides good opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and collegial support.

We place great emphasis on competence development and offer a highly structured introduction period, specific introductory training, further in-depth staff education, as well as access to case supervision alongside collegial support and collaboration.

In addition to stimulating and enjoyable occupational therapy work, you will receive the following benefits from us:

  • A varied job appreciated by both patients and their relatives
  • A strong sense of community in cross-professional teamwork that fosters professional development
  • Collegial supervision and professional development work
  • Competence development through our internal staff training and the opportunity to pursue further studies with employer support
  • Free healthcare benefits
  • Generous wellness allowance and wellness activities during working hours
  • Flexible working hours
  • Additional compensation during parental leave

Qualifications

You have a strong interest in people, are motivated by supporting individuals in leading a valuable life, and value the equal worth of all people. You are interested in developing both your clinical work and our joint efforts. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in habilitation and/or with our target group, as well as experience with the prescription process, is considered an advantage.

We require a valid driver's license (Category B).

Conditions

Permanent, full-time position with a start date to be agreed upon.

Submit an application so we can get in touch and tell you more about our organization and our work! Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

  • A register check will be applied before the decision to hire, according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, conducted by the occupational health service before employment.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.

Stockholms läns sjukvårdsområde (SLSO) is one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers with 11,600 employees. We offer healthcare under the auspices of Region Stockholm within psychiatry, primary care, geriatrics, ASIH, near-acute care, somatic specialist care, habilitation and health, and assistive devices. In collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, we conduct research, education, and development. Read more about SLSO here.
