A smart and meaningful choice

Do you want to work with advanced process control at one of Europe's leading special paper mills? Do you thrive in a role where you take responsibility, make decisions, and are a key part of an engaged shift team? Do you have experience from the process industry and want to contribute to sustainable production together with knowledgeable colleagues?

Your new workplace

Hallstavik Paper Mill is one of Europe's leading special paper mills. Here, we drive development towards tomorrow's sustainable paper products with a strong focus on innovation, safety, and responsibility. Our products have a low climate footprint, and the mill is currently self-sufficient in steam.

Almost 400 employees work here in a business where collaboration, technology, and development go hand in hand. We have a long tradition of innovation and improvement work, while also valuing a secure and inclusive work environment where everyone contributes to the whole.

We are now looking for several experienced machine operators for our production due to upcoming retirements. This is an opportunity for you who want to take an important role in our future production and become part of a knowledgeable and cohesive team.

Your next challenge

As a machine operator here, you work close to the heart of production – the paper machine and its processes. You are responsible for ensuring that operations run safely, stably, and efficiently with a focus on quality, working environment, and production.

This is a role for you who enjoy combining technology, problem-solving, and collaboration. You work in a shift team where you jointly are responsible for optimizing production and handling deviations when they occur. The role involves significant personal responsibility, and you become a key person in the daily work around the machine and processes.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Work in a 3-shift system
  • Start, stop, and monitor the paper machine and associated process equipment
  • Control and optimize the process based on quality requirements, target values, and production goals
  • Troubleshoot deviations and carry out corrective actions
  • Ensure that the product meets the correct quality and specification
  • Participate in stops, maintenance activities, and improvement work
  • Conduct operator rounds and contribute to order and safety in the plant
  • Collaborate closely with shift supervisors, operations management, maintenance, and other functions within the mill
  • Support and introduce colleagues to the work when needed

You will work in a technically advanced environment where your skills make a real difference for both production and development. There are great opportunities here to grow in the role and broaden your competence in process and production.

To succeed in the role

We are looking for you who have experience from the process industry or similar production activities where safety, quality, and process control have been a natural part of everyday life. If you have previously worked as a machine operator, operator, or process operator in paper, pulp, or other manufacturing industries, we consider this highly meritorious.

You are a person who takes responsibility, works systematically, and enjoys collaborating with others. At the same time, you are confident in making decisions and acting when the situation demands it.

We would like you to have:

  • Upper secondary education, preferably with a technical or process focus
  • Experience from the process industry or another advanced production environment
  • Good understanding of processes, control systems, and quality work
  • Ability to troubleshoot and handle deviations in production
  • Good communication skills in Swedish, both oral and written
  • Category B driver's license is required

It is meritorious if you have experience from the paper or pulp industry as well as qualifications such as forklift license, crane license, or experience with wheel loaders.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. To thrive here, we believe you are collaborative, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. You contribute with engagement in the group and want to help develop both working methods and production forward.

We offer you

Here you get to work in a business where sustainability, safety, and long-term perspective are central. You become part of a flat organization with short decision-making paths and high competence close to the operations.

We offer you:

  • A varied and responsible job in a technically advanced production environment
  • Competent and engaged colleagues with high team spirit
  • Opportunities to develop within process, technology, and production
  • A workplace where improvement work and development are encouraged
  • A sustainable company with a clear focus on the industry of the future

At Holmen, we work based on our values: courage, engagement, and responsibility. We believe in the power of collaboration and in creating a workplace where people develop together.
