In this role as Junior Quant Developer, you will work closely with the client's quantum team and a dedicated Data & Analytics team. Your focus will be on data management, modeling, and automation to support advanced analyses within a promising future industry.

Key responsibilities

As a Junior Quant Developer, you will play a central role in managing, modeling, and automating data flows. You will work with database solutions and programming tools to ensure the team has access to accurate and accessible data for their analyses, while also contributing to the development of production-ready data solutions.

  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using SQL.
  • Conduct data modeling in SQL, primarily via views.
  • Automate data flows using Azure Data Factory or Databricks.
  • Use Python and Pandas for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Work with the Snowflake database in a Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Model Azure ML pipelines using Python.
  • Develop production-ready data solutions from business idea to deployment.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has or is pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in fields such as Technical Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar.
  • Has good knowledge of SQL for data management (extraction, transformation, loading) from work or studies.
  • Has experience with data modeling in SQL from work or studies.
  • Has basic knowledge of Python and Pandas for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Has the ability to automate data flows with tools such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks.

It is an advantage if you have

  • Knowledge of GitLab workflows or Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  • Experience designing and implementing API calls for data retrieval.
  • Ability to extract and reconstruct business rules from existing systems.
  • Experience with data modeling in Snowflake.
