NG Nordic Sweden AB has recently launched a high-tech sorting facility in the Norrsundet harbor area north of Gävle. The facility processes the metals recycled within the company. We are now looking for a technician/mechanic for the site as we ramp up production.
Introduction
As a technician/mechanic, you will become a key person in our production. You will work close to the operations with responsibility for ensuring operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our processes.
Your effort is crucial for the production to function efficiently and meet our requirements for quality, safety, and performance. The role involves high presence in production and requires a strong safety mindset, initiative, and a good holistic view.
You will be part of a small, competent, and dedicated team where collaboration, initiative, and responsibility are central parts of the work. The position is varied and combines practical work with technical responsibility and improvement work.
About the role
In the role, you maintain and monitor the production facility, conduct rounds, and ensure that production runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. You are responsible for the workshop and perform maintenance on process equipment and the associated machine fleet. You also contribute to structure, order, and tidiness in daily work.
We would like you to currently work as a technician or mechanic within, for example, process industry or mechanical workshop.
Do you currently work as a technician or mechanic within, for example, process industry or mechanical workshop? Are you used to programming and working with PLC and control systems, as well as making software settings?
Examples of tasks for a technician/mechanic include:
- Act as a maintenance resource in the production facility
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving of equipment and machinery.
- Planning and execution of smaller projects in consultation with colleagues.
- Drive daily operations
- Process monitoring
- Care, preventive, and ongoing maintenance of process equipment and vehicles
- Initiate and carry out improvement activities
- Troubleshooting, cleaning, and corrective actions at the facility
- Work as an operator in the production facility during peak work or other absence
- Optimize software settings and adjust parameters in the control system.
- Daily rounds
- Operate wheel loaders and counterbalance forklifts when the work requires it (training offered to those lacking competence)
- Machine and vehicle care
- Participate in occupational health and safety work
- Ensure that work follows current safety regulations and standards.
- Documentation and reporting of completed work.
- Other administrative tasks
- Other common and business-necessary tasks
Your profile
We are looking for you who are driven and motivated by being an important part of daily operations. Other work experience in industry and process or technical education may also be relevant for the position. You have the ability to analyze and solve technical problems. You have logical thinking and the ability to solve-oriented remedy situations that arise daily. We appreciate that you like technology and enjoy delving into it. It is important to be meticulous, proactive, and have the ability to solve the situations that arise daily. It should not be foreign to take charge of things directly when they arise.
We also place great emphasis on personal qualities. It is important that you are a good team player and enjoy responsibility. You have a positive attitude and are willing to learn. In addition, you are flexible and have good communication skills. We value a high safety mindset and understanding of it. Independent work may also occur.
Furthermore, we see that you have good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office. You should have understanding and interest in using digital support systems required to document and report work in accordance with the business system.
Qualifications:
- We appreciate that you have a few years of experience as a technician or mechanic or alternatively worked with technology or maintenance within process industry.
- Category B driver's license is a requirement.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge to interpret and understand process flows and maintenance instructions.
You also need to be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have basic knowledge of English in speech and writing.
For the position, it is considered meritorious if you also have:
- Used maintenance and reporting systems, e.g., Maximo
- Education in electricity or technology or other relevant education or work experience.
- Certification in electrical installation (e.g., ECY certificate) is meritorious.
- Forklift license
- Welding skills
- Wheel loader training
- Machine operator experience
- Used maintenance and reporting systems
- Other relevant education or courses in safety and occupational health
- Other post-secondary education
Working hours: Daytime. On-call duty may occur later.
Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement. Probation period applies.
