The Association Archive in Jämtland County (from January 1, 2027, Jämtland County Archives) is the regional private archive in the county. We are a non-profit cultural association and currently manage analog records from associations, organizations, and private individuals. We have approximately 460 member organizations and are strongly rooted in the county.

The organization currently consists of three employees – an archivist, an archive pedagogue, and an archive manager – and we are now looking for a fourth team member.

We are in a transition phase. As our main partner, the National Archives, leaves Östersund, we are building a new structure for the future. We are looking for you who want to help build the new operations together with us.

The public meeting is fundamental to our operations, and our visitor center is a hub for all our activities. The Association Archive is a small organization where everyone must be flexible and ready to do everything. The interaction with visitors is always at the center of our work.

About the position

Service and pedagogy form the basis of all our work. As a person, you have a positive attitude, enjoy meeting people, are not afraid to hold courses and lectures, and want to contribute to our visitors having a secure and educational experience. Since we are a small organization, we work closely together. From this, you need to be flexible, have the ability to see what needs to be done, and step in when necessary. As an archivist, it is important that you are structured and can juggle many balls.

The years 2026–2027 will largely involve planning for and receiving a large move of records, 1.5 km, from the National Archives. The work will involve walking and standing for large parts of the day, as well as lifting lighter loads.

We are looking for you who

  • Have a bachelor's degree from a university or college where archival science is included. Your education is relatively new, which means you have good knowledge of modern working methods, digital tools, electronic archives, and current legal requirements within the archival field.
  • Have experience with Klara (preferably).
  • Have a pedagogical approach and thrive in interactions with people.
  • Have good skills in expressing yourself in speech and writing.
  • Have high social and digital competence.
  • Are service-oriented and interested in cultural history.
  • Are flexible and want to be part of a small team where we support each other in big and small matters.

When appointing the position, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
