About Us

The Surgical Clinic operates an extensive business within surgery, urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and oncology. We have two inpatient wards in Karlskrona and three outpatient clinics, one of which is in Karlshamn. We also operate in radiology and the emergency department in Karlskrona, as well as on the operating departments in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. Together, we are just over 200 employees.

On surgical ward 48, we care for patients with diseases in the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder. On the ward, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and kitchen staff work. We also have close cooperation with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

About the Job

On surgical ward 48, we sometimes work at a high pace and make quick decisions. We handle both young and old patients, those with fast care pathways and those with longer stays. To assist our care team, we have both a coordinator and a discharge nurse.

With us, you will have the opportunity to participate in varied, developmental, and very educational work. You will become part of a lovely team where we help each other and have good cohesion. We work with the patient's best interest in focus and have a strong employee engagement in the ward's development work.

Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, night, and weekend, and we use individual scheduling.

On our ward, there is also the opportunity to study to become a specialist nurse in surgical care. We also have a nurse who works with mentorship on the ward through reflection sessions, being there to answer questions, and to create security for you who are new to the job.

About You

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. If you have experience working on a surgical ward or have a specialist education in one of our areas, we see this as meritorious but not a requirement. With us, it is of great importance that you have an empathetic approach and good treatment based on good ethics, as patients have, together with relatives, the right to participation and information in decisions regarding their own care.

Furthermore, you appreciate good cooperation between colleagues and have the ability to prioritize between tasks and can keep calm in situations that require it.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
