The Pediatric Care area in Norrbotten is a county clinic belonging to the Division of Medicine and Acute Care. Here, the specialties of child and adolescent medicine and child and adolescent habilitation work closely together, and extensive collaboration is also conducted with child and adolescent psychiatry as well as other healthcare partners within and outside Region Norrbotten. Extensive collaboration also takes place with all municipalities in Norrbotten.

The largest pediatric activities are located at Gällivare and Sunderby hospitals, where the county's inpatient care is also provided. Pediatric outpatient services are available in Gällivare and Sunderby, as well as in Piteå, Kalix, and Kiruna. All locations except Kiruna also offer child and adolescent habilitation.

The operations in Gällivare have a staff of just over 50 employees with a wide range of competencies. The operations are mainly based in Gällivare, but a smaller clinic is located in Kiruna. The catchment area is small in terms of population but large in area. Due to the long distances, a multifaceted operation is conducted where almost all patient categories are cared for. On the medical side, we currently have three senior consultants and one specialist doctor in Gällivare. We are now looking for you who want to become a specialist trainee (ST-läkare) with us as we wish to expand our team.

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician. Merits include knowledge of VAS and Cosmic systems, as well as language skills in minority languages. What you will work with

The pediatric clinic provides standard pediatric care but with great variation and patients from several sub-specialties. Day care and advanced diagnostics are also provided. The work also includes activities within child habilitation, collaboration with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), and care levels outside the hospital, such as school health services and social services.

The pediatric ward in Gällivare has eight beds where children up to 18 years of age are treated, including neonatal care from 32 weeks of gestational age. This is of course done in good cooperation with other pediatric care in Norrbotten as well as a well-functioning national and regional healthcare system. Since the clinic has a small population base combined with large geographical distances, there is a great responsibility in handling acute care for a variety of conditions. Therefore, the specialist training includes approximately 2 years of service at larger hospitals, as well as educational initiatives.

Information about the position

We offer you a permanent full-time position, daytime hours. Start date by agreement. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.
