Berga Agricultural Upper Secondary School is looking for a Service Technician/Mechanic

About the position

Our service technician is retiring, and we are looking for a replacement. The role involves being the central hub in our workshop, servicing and repairing our various agricultural machines together with the students. The position also includes other farm-related repairs, such as in stables, gates, etc. You will be responsible for the fleet of machinery, supported by other staff and students. Guiding and instructing students in the workshop is also part of the job.

On-call duty for snow clearance during the winter season is included, together with other staff.

Qualifications

You must be able to weld, service, and repair our agricultural machinery and vehicles, as well as be a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to repairs. You need a valid B-driver's license and welding skills.

Preferred qualifications:

Certification for hot work
Documented welding experience

Conditions

Permanent employment with 100% full-time engagement, with a 6-month probationary period starting in August. To be employed at Berga Agricultural Upper Secondary School, a certificate from the Swedish National Police Board (extract from the criminal record) must be presented. Berga is a high school with just over 230 students. We have a farm with crop cultivation, cattle, and sheep, as well as a large horse operation with its own riding arena. For students coming from far away, there is a dormitory with just over 100 places. The farm covers 600 hectares, giving the school a unique location in Stockholm County, just 30 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. Since 1921, young people have been educated in agriculture at Berga, although the farm's history goes back much further in time.
