About the role

We are looking for a Department Manager who wants to take full responsibility for projects, personnel, and business operations within a company delivering technical services and projects to industrial and construction-related customers.

The company works closely with its clients on practical, often field-based projects where delivery precision, quality, and speed are crucial. The projects involve installation, assembly, and maintenance in industrial environments, requiring both technical understanding and operational management.

In this role, you run your department as a separate business unit, responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and with the right profitability.

Key responsibilities:
  • Plan and allocate resources in daily operations
  • Ensure the right competence, materials, and equipment are available on-site
  • Monitor projects continuously to ensure quality and adherence to schedules
  • Identify risks and act proactively
  • Prepare calculations and quotations
  • Ensure projects stay within budget and deliver the correct margin
  • Drive upselling and additional sales
  • Lead and develop the team in daily work
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
  • Conduct department meetings and follow up on performance
Who we are looking for

You likely have a background in contracting, industry, or technical project work and have grown into a role where you are now responsible for both people and results.

You:

  • Have a strong technical understanding in a relevant area (e.g., assembly, construction, industry, installation)
  • Have experience leading projects and/or teams
  • Understand calculations, margins, and how to drive profitability
  • Are structured yet pragmatic – you solve problems as they arise
  • Are clear in your leadership and dare to set demands
  • Thrive in an environment with high pace and decisions made close to the operations
