Pajala Municipality is looking for an AFIS Officer at Pajala Airport

Pajala Airport, "The Window to the World", is a central hub in Torne Valley and we are now looking for dedicated airport staff.

The airline Jonair operates at the airport, offering regular flights to and from Luleå with two departures and two arrivals every weekday. In addition to scheduled flights, we also have charter traffic, military flights, helicopters, and private aircraft using the airport.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a trained AFIS officer to work in the air traffic control service. As an AFIS officer, you work in the air traffic control at the airport and are responsible for providing flight and weather information to pilots to ensure safe and efficient traffic within the airport's airspace.

The role involves:

• maintaining continuous radio contact with pilots
• providing traffic and weather information
• making independent decisions in real-time
• working structured even during periods of high workload

This is a responsible and independent job where clear communication and good judgment are crucial.

Personal qualities and suitability are decisive and will be evaluated during the recruitment process.

The position involves shift work scheduled for mornings, afternoons, and Sunday afternoons.

Qualifications

Basic requirements:

• Has/had an AFIS qualification recently
• Good health, normal color vision and hearing (medical certificate required)
• Swedish citizenship is required for security clearance
• Security clearance is conducted before employment and random drug tests occur

Meritorious:

• Category B driver's license

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
