We are looking for a Stoma Therapist or Nurse with an interest in stoma and wound care

The surgical department covers the entire county with clinics and wards in Hudiksvall and Gävle. We provide both emergency and planned care within our specialties in urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, and endocrine surgery. Working with us gives you broad experience in the nursing profession with opportunities to develop within surgery. As one of our stoma therapists has moved on to another job, we are now looking for a stoma therapist, or alternatively a nurse with an interest in stoma and wound care. The position is 100%, with 50% as a stoma therapist/nurse and 50% as a clinic nurse.

Job Responsibilities

As a stoma therapist at the surgical clinic, you will work with patients who have undergone surgery and received a stoma. You will have an independent role with varied tasks, such as preoperative information to patients, post-operative follow-up, and telephone advice. You will also follow our stoma-operated patients during their stay on the ward. Working hours are during daytime, Monday to Friday.

Your tasks as a stoma therapist/nurse include among other things:

• Preoperative information
• Post-operative follow-up
• Fitting of stoma appliances
• Own clinic work and reception duties together with doctors
• Telephone advice, including general surgical telephone advice
• Handling of referrals and booking of patients

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN).

Merits:

• Trained stoma therapist or prior knowledge in stoma care.
• Experience in surgical care.
