Nurse Jenny describes her job: "My work involves using tools to strengthen the people who seek our help to find their own resources, and to be a support without taking away their own strength. The best part of my job is that I get along very well with my colleagues and that it feels like I can make a difference almost every day when I give my time to each individual." We are now looking for a colleague to join our team at the Psychiatric Ward at Gällivare Hospital. Perhaps you are a resident of Gällivare looking to change jobs, or maybe someone looking for new challenges and considering moving to beautiful Gällivare.

We are looking for

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have VUB (Further Education within Basic Education) in psychiatry, knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), experience working in healthcare and psychiatry, and knowledge of the Cosmic medical record system. We would prefer if you speak Sami or have knowledge of other languages.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. To thrive in this role, you are flexible, self-reliant, and able to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. As a person, you are secure, stable, self-aware, and able to adapt to the situation. Furthermore, you value and see the benefit of collaborating with others.

What you will work with

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to do truly meaningful work. You contribute with important efforts for patients in acute illness or with long-term mental illness. The work is carried out within a safe and meaningful 24-hour care where attitude, relationships, consideration, knowledge, and conversation are central pillars. On our ward, you will meet patients with, for example, severe depression, personality disorders, psychotic illness, addiction, or neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Together in the care team – consisting of nursing assistants and nurses – you work with individually adapted care through a contact person system that creates continuity and security for the patient.

In your role as a nurse, you will among other things:

  • Work in a patient-centered manner with a holistic perspective where participation for both the patient and relatives is of great importance.
  • Participate in the formulation of care plans upon admission according to HSL, LPT, LRV, or LVM, based on the patient's needs.
  • Have close collaboration with psychiatric outpatient care as well as other authorities, such as social services, in coordinated individual planning (SIP).

We are proud of our improvement mindset with a clear patient focus. Here you will have good opportunities to develop care processes, care environments, and working methods together with colleagues – always with the goal of creating more value-adding time for the patient. At the psychiatric ward in Gällivare, we work with adult psychiatric treatment and investigation. The ward has 13 care beds and provides both outpatient and inpatient care. Within the operations, there are approximately 80 employees who collaborate in multidisciplinary teams consisting of, among others, nursing assistants, psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses, occupational therapists, secretaries, and psychiatrists.
