We are now looking for an engaged nurse who wants to work with us this summer at the psychiatric ward of Gällivare Hospital. Perhaps you already live in Gällivare and are eager for new challenges, or maybe you are attracted by the opportunity to spend the summer in one of Sweden's most beautiful environments.

We are looking for

• Registered Nurse
• Further education in psychiatric care is meritorious but not a requirement
• Experience in psychiatry is an advantage
• Sami language skills are meritorious

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You have good empathy, are stable, calm, and can maintain a realistic perspective even in challenging situations. You are flexible, communicative, and have a genuine desire to help others.

What you will work with

As a summer substitute, you will play an important role in providing secure and meaningful 24-hour care to patients with acute or long-term mental health conditions. You work in a care team together with nursing assistants and nurses, and participate in contact person assignments to provide individually adapted care.

The patients treated here may have conditions such as:

• Severe depression
• Personality disorders
• Psychotic illness
• Substance abuse

The work includes, among other things:

• Patient-centered work focusing on participation for patients and relatives
• Creation of care plans upon admission according to HSL, LPT, LRV, or LVM
• Collaboration with psychiatric outpatient care and other authorities, such as social services, for coordinated individual planning

Information about the position

We offer you a summer temporary position during the period from May to September. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline. Based on the nature of the operations and safety requirements, applicants must be prepared to provide an extract from their criminal record.

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
