About the workplace
Ersta Elderly Care is part of Ersta Diaconia and operates a total of nine elderly care homes in Stockholm and Uppsala. Our goal is to provide our residents with a secure and content-rich daily life, featuring activities, community, and good, enjoyable meals. At our facilities, everyone should feel at home!
In November 2026, Miriamhemmet, a completely new care and nursing home within Ersta Diaconia, will open in the new Tenstaterrassen area. Miriamhemmet will comprise 80 modern apartments distributed across eight wards and six floors, featuring bright communal areas, balconies on each ward, and a large green rooftop terrace. The facility will be adapted for both somatic and cognitive conditions.
Starting up a new elderly care home means that we will build working methods, routines, and culture from the ground up together. This gives you a unique opportunity to influence how we work and help create a meaningful daily life for the residents – right from the start.
As an employee, we offer a range of benefits that we hope will provide you with the conditions to enjoy your work and have a rewarding leisure time.
About the role
As an Occupational Therapist with us, you will become an important part of our multidisciplinary team, working alongside physiotherapists, activity coordinators, nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors. Together, we work from a function-preserving approach – focusing on strengthening each individual's abilities, participation, and quality of life.
You are responsible for assessing, planning, and following up on occupational therapy interventions and serve as a key support for both residents and colleagues. Your duties include, among other things:
- conducting ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessments and creating individual plans
- assessing and adapting the physical environment based on the resident's needs
- prescribing, testing, and following up on assistive devices
- planning and implementing activities that strengthen independence and participation
- supervising care staff in a function-preserving working approach
- contributing to the development of working methods and quality within the operations.
You work both independently and in close collaboration with other professions. You are part of the local management group, participate in the operation's improvement council, and attend team meetings on the wards.
In the startup phase, you will play a key role in establishing structures and working methods. You will combine your clinical responsibilities with contributing to the team's development.
The work is scheduled on weekdays during daytime hours.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of building something new and is driven by the desire to make an impact. You thrive in a changing environment, are flexible, and take initiative.
You are confident in your professional role and are motivated by making a difference in people's daily lives. With a pedagogical approach, you are eager to share your knowledge and adapt your supervision to the recipient.
You work in a structured manner, see opportunities rather than obstacles, and have a natural focus on quality. You collaborate well with other professions, contribute to good dialogue, and take responsibility for the holistic care of the resident.
Above all, you have a warm and respectful attitude – towards both residents and colleagues – and share our value system of seeing the whole person. At our organization, professionalism, trust, and hope are united in everything we do.
Your experience
We are looking for someone who:
- is a licensed occupational therapist
- has good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
- has good computer skills.
Experience in elderly care is considered an asset.
