Our Operations

Psychiatry Ward 3B provides specialized inpatient psychiatric care for patients with affective conditions such as severe depression, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, and severe anxiety conditions.

We are part of the Section for Affective Diseases, which is a specialized psychiatric operation within the Psychiatry Department, comprising both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics.

We are located in modern facilities where inpatient care, outpatient care, and emergency psychiatric care are all under one roof.

About Us

To ensure the quality of care, we actively work to develop a good and attractive working environment for nurses. This means that we value and protect the nurse's autonomous professional practice and that nursing care plays a central role in our operations. Facilitating recovery and health are important parts of nursing work on a psychiatric ward. A clear focus on person-centered care allows individuals' own stories to shape the nursing care.

On the ward, we work in two care teams, where one nurse, together with two nursing assistants/care assistants, is responsible for half of the patients on the ward. As the leading nurse, you lead the daily nursing work. At the end of each shift, we have debriefing in the work group. We also have nursing rounds every week and regular supervision for the nursing group.

Together, we create a care plan with current and planned interventions, which are continuously evaluated. The ward has a close and well-functioning collaboration with outpatient care, ensuring safe discharge with good follow-up and treatment even after discharge.

We are a fun and diverse group of about 30 people, consisting of nurses (both basic and specialized), a coordinating nurse, nursing assistants, care assistants, and doctors at various levels.

Your Role

As a nurse, you are responsible for psychiatric and somatic nursing care. You perform nursing assessments, carry out treatment measures, manage medication administration, and communicate with relatives and ward mates. You document in the medical record system Cosmic, supervise nursing students, and introduce new employees. Together with the nursing assistants in your care team, you prepare and conduct the daily ward round. You are a key person who, together with your nursing colleagues, leads and distributes the work on the ward.

Workdays with us can look very different. Sometimes the pace is calmer, and you can spend a lot of time talking to or activating patients, while other days may contain acute situations of various kinds or coercive measures, where you as the leader need to make quick decisions and handle stressful situations.

Your Qualifications and Competence

We are looking for you who are a basic trained nurse, whether you are newly graduated or have a few years of experience in the profession. What is important is that you want to know more about psychiatry, that you are open, curious, and genuinely interested in people.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position with start date as agreed.

Here, there are great opportunities to influence your schedule as our nurses create their own desired schedules. Great importance is placed on healthy schedules and the opportunity for each nurse to have a balance between work and leisure. Our working hours follow current EU directives regarding recovery times between shifts and weekly rest.

A salary supplement of 2000 SEK/month for full-time employment is added as an inpatient care supplement. The possibility to work nights is also available if desired.

If you are newly graduated, you will work in pairs for eight weeks with the ward's nurses who will introduce you in the best way. If you have previous experience, we will adapt the introduction accordingly. For you who are new to the profession, you will have great opportunities to develop your profession with us, and we regularly have various training courses on the ward.
