This is your chance to work practically and thrive behind the forklift wheel. Here, you will join an exciting growth journey and develop in a role where every day is varied and educational. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of Adapteo's team, where your contribution makes a difference in production, for the environment, and in society. At Adapteo, you become part of a tightly knit and non-hierarchical group where everyone helps each other and enjoys working together. We look forward to your application!

About the Role

Adapteo is Northern Europe's leading supplier of flexible, modular, and sustainable building solutions, ranging from offices and schools to residential and healthcare facilities. The company builds adaptable structures that can be scaled up, scaled down, moved, or reused. Adapteo utilizes a circular business model where the lifespan of modules is extended, resources are used efficiently, and the carbon footprint is minimized, with a focus on reuse, resource efficiency, and fossil-free transport.

Adapteo is currently building a new, state-of-the-art facility in Uppsala, an initiative that brings the workshop, warehouse, office, and showroom under one roof, becoming a crucial part of the company's future production and growth. As a forklift driver at Adapteo, you will hold a central and primarily operational role, responsible for handling and moving modules at the facility in a safe and efficient manner. Most of your workday will be spent outdoors on the yard, driving counterbalance forklifts to handle heavy modules and loads with a lifting capacity of up to 20 tons. The modules you work with weigh approximately 4–11 tons and range in size from 9 x 3 x 3.2 meters to 11 x 4 x 3.56 meters, requiring high precision, safety awareness, and excellent driving skills. You will load and unload modules from trucks, move them between different areas, and ensure they are placed correctly according to plan. The work requires both precision and a safety mindset, as you handle large units and are responsible for ensuring they stand stable and secure.

Beyond driving the forklift, you play a vital role in keeping the flow moving. You ensure modules are delivered to the workshop on time for refurbishment and receive finished modules ready for placement and further transport. You work closely with the workshop, production, and transport teams to ensure the right module is in the right place at the right time; your contribution is critical for the business to run smoothly without interruption. The role also includes some administrative tasks, such as planning loading and unloading for upcoming transports, documenting module locations, and maintaining ongoing communication with colleagues via phone and email. However, the administrative part is minor; the focus remains on practical and operational work.

A typical day begins with the team gathering to review the day's plan with colleagues and supervisors. Throughout the day, you collaborate closely with your colleagues, learn new tasks, share ideas, and contribute to improvements in the workflow. The role is practical, varied, and developmental; you continuously build your competence and take ownership. The work initially takes place at Adapteo's hub in Enköping, but in the long term, everything will move to the new state-of-the-art facility in Uppsala, where you will be part of an exciting growth journey.

This is a consultancy assignment, meaning you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Adapteo. The assignment will be full-time and long-term. There are excellent chances for permanent recruitment, provided all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.
