Operations and Traffic Control Substitute in Uppsala

We are now looking for two Operations and Traffic Control Substitutes for our depot in Uppsala. One of the roles is a full-time temporary position for 6 months with scheduled night shifts. The other role is an Operations and Traffic Control Substitute with varying working hours, where you retain your underlying position as a bus driver.

We are looking for you who thrive in an operational role with a high pace, significant responsibility, and close collaboration with both drivers and other support functions. With us, you will have a varied job in a socially important operation that is complex and constantly evolving.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As an Operations and Traffic Control Substitute, you are responsible for planning and leading daily traffic in a production-safe and resource-efficient manner. The role involves operational responsibility during the traffic day, where you, in close cooperation with bus drivers, maintenance, and traffic monitoring, handle both planned and acute events.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and staffing the current traffic day
• Filling vacant shifts and handling sick and absence reports
• Handling acute personnel and traffic-related issues
• Responsible for bus deployment
• Registering and following up on deviations in our deviation management system

The role involves many contact points and requires that you can express yourself clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Introduction and Training

As an Operations and Traffic Control Substitute, you will receive a structured introduction where you will learn the role together with experienced supervisors in operations and traffic control. During the introduction, you will follow daily operations, receive training in our systems and routines, and gradually take on more responsibility.

The goal is for you to be fully trained by the summer and ready to step into the role of Operations and Traffic Control Substitute as agreed and as needed. We apply individual salary setting for this role.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Category B driver's license
• Good computer skills and ability to work in digital systems
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good understanding of public transport operations or similar operational environments

It is also meritorious if you have:

• Category D driver's license
• Experience in operations and traffic control
• Knowledge of agreements, labor law, and working environment
• Experience with the planning system Hastus
