Job Description

As a Technical Lead/Project Manager for Bridges and Civil Engineering, you will lead the technical work and ensure that our deliveries meet contracts, requirements, and project plans. You are responsible for the overall technical scope and support the project manager in both technical and commercial matters.

You have a flexible location and can work from our offices in Karlstad, Örebro, Västerås, Uppsala, Norrköping, Linköping, or Jönköping.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading work within your technical area and ensuring the right technical solutions are applied in projects.
• Planning, leading, and monitoring tasks regarding time, budget, quality, sustainability, working environment, and risk.
• Preparing and quality-assuring technical documentation, such as investigations, inspections, calculations, drawings, and cost estimates (AMA).
• Ensuring compliance with relevant requirements, laws, and regulations within the bridge and civil engineering sector.
• Applying AFRY's routines for quality control, verification, and documentation.
• Coordinating technical solutions with other technical areas and with sub-consultants.

You will also actively participate in client meetings, contribute to market monitoring, and develop client relationships. Business travel is part of the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is confident in a technical leadership role and wants to contribute to development, quality, and commercial success in our projects. You are attentive, unpretentious, and willing to share your competence to strengthen both the team and deliveries.

You have:

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering, preferably with a focus on bridges.
• At least 5 years of experience in bridge and civil engineering projects.
• Good understanding of the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) processes and regulations regarding bridges/roads/railways, and preferably experience with municipal planning processes.
• Experience in leading technical teams and making technical decisions in project planning.
• High commercial acumen and the ability to build good relationships both internally and externally.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
