About the Role
We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager (Cleaning Operations) for a government authority in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational management of approximately 35 cleaning staff. You will be a key figure in ensuring a safe, pleasant, and well-functioning environment in extensive and dynamic premises where education, research, and administration coexist.
In addition, you will lead daily operations, plan and allocate resources, and ensure an efficient and quality-assured cleaning service delivery. You will work closely with both employees and internal clients, follow up on completed work, and actively contribute to developing working methods, routines, and the overall service delivery.
The authority is a large and important workplace where many people move around every day. Thousands of employees work here, and the operations play a significant role in society. Within the Service Unit, several different functions collaborate to provide good support to the organization, and the cleaning section ensures that the premises are always clean, safe, and well-functioning. The work is continuously developed to meet the authority's needs and create a smooth and sustainable working environment.
The role includes, among other things, the following tasks:
- Operational management of approximately 35 cleaning staff and responsibility for a quality-assured service delivery.
- Lead daily work and plan and allocate resources according to base cleaning programs and applicable agreements.
- Drive and implement change management and develop working methods, routines, and processes.
- Manage operational maintenance and ensure that operations are conducted in a structured and efficient manner.
- Support employees in their daily work, handle personnel-related issues, and contribute to a well-functioning team.
- Maintain ongoing contact with suppliers linked to procured services as well as with internal clients.
- Maintain and further develop good relationships with the operations and other stakeholders.
- Lead, plan, and develop cleaning areas and follow up on quality in the cleaning service delivery.
- Maintain dialogue with the operations and work towards an efficient and sustainable working environment and operations.
Assignment Period and Scope:
The position as Interim Manager is a full-time consultancy assignment starting as soon as possible and is expected to last until 2026-12-31, with the possibility of extension for up to six (6) months.
Working hours are during the day, starting at 06:00.
Requirements for the position:
• At least five (5) years of experience in operational management within cleaning services.
• Good knowledge of cleaning methods, planning, and the structure of cleaning areas.
• Experience with calculations, time estimates, scheduling, and resource planning.
• Experience with quality follow-up, change management, conflict resolution, and operational dialogues.
• Good administrative skills.
• Express yourself very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

Merits for the position:
- Experience from the public sector or university environment.
- Experience of working with efficiency improvements and development of operations.
- Experience of environmental and sustainability work, KPI follow-up, and major change projects.
- Completed leadership training.
- Language skills in English.
