Occupational Therapist to the Psychiatric Clinic in Umeå

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is Northern Sweden's largest psychiatric clinic, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The entire clinic moved to brand new facilities in autumn 2022, located near Östra station, offering excellent commuting possibilities.

The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Unit is a clinic-wide outpatient unit directed towards patients aged 18 and older who have ongoing treatment contact at the clinic's various units. As an occupational therapist, you will collaborate on targeted interventions with the patient, other caregivers, and the wider network, focusing on increasing the patient's participation and ability to manage activities they wish to, desire, and need.

We are looking for: 1 Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an occupational therapist with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure. You are responsible for assessing and treating activity limitations and their consequences in individuals with varying psychiatric issues. You actively contribute an activity perspective to the team involved with the patient.

Your work involves working both independently and in a team-based manner, providing treatment individually and in groups. You will participate continuously in method development and evaluation of occupational therapy interventions at the workplace and within your own professional group.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be a licensed occupational therapist. Merits include:

• Basic knowledge/training in and experience with assessment methodology (e.g., AMPS, PRPP, or similar).
• Driver's license (Class B).
• Experience in rehabilitation and prescribing cognitive aids.

To succeed in this role, you must be confident in your professional role, have a strong ethical approach, and good collaboration skills. You should enjoy working independently and take personal responsibility for the planning, execution, and follow-up of your work. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
