Dietitian to Behavioral Medicine at AB-Center

The Occupational and Behavioral Medicine Center (AB-Center) is a university hospital unit with the overarching mission to prevent, investigate, assess, and address work-, environment-, and lifestyle-related ill health. We also have an insurance medicine mandate. AB-Center is one of Region Västerbotten's largest R&D operations, with research and teaching conducted in close collaboration with Umeå University.

AB-Center is organized into four departments: Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Behavioral Medicine, Stress Rehabilitation, and the Insurance Medicine Investigation Unit.

The mission of Behavioral Medicine is to assess and treat lifestyle habits in individuals with obesity and established or high risk of developing diabetes or cardiovascular disease, as well as to offer smoking cessation (TPM NUS).

The goal is improved health through changed dietary habits, increased physical activity, reduced sedentary behavior, and long-term, sustainable weight loss. The operation is located in Umeå and Skellefteå with a total of approximately 15 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a dietitian with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that make people feel secure.

At Behavioral Medicine, you support patients through motivation and goal-setting work with a focus on diet and healthy lifestyle habits. You participate in group activities and provide individual support.

You work preventively with education, information, and counseling. Administrative tasks and quality work are also included. Participation in various research and development projects may be relevant. The work is carried out both independently and in a multiprofessional team.

Your base of operations is Umeå, but you will also work in Skellefteå. Tasks within other departments at AB-Center may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed dietitian. We prefer that you have experience with patients in need of lifestyle changes and motivational interviewing. It is an asset if you have experience with teamwork, development work, research, and teaching.

You are a person who takes responsibility for your own work, performs it with high quality, and drives it forward with accuracy, engagement, and initiative. You have good communication skills and can listen and collaborate with others.

Furthermore, you can handle parallel tasks, are solution-focused, and can adapt to changes in working methods and operations.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
