Your new job

As a specialist nurse assistant, you are an important part of daily life at the unit. You work independently, take responsibility, and use your specialist knowledge to create safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care for our residents. At the same time, you support your colleagues by mentoring, inspiring, and deepening knowledge within dementia care, so that the entire work team feels safe and strengthened in their work.

In addition to daily care work, your responsibilities include:

• Support and mentor colleagues in preventive BPSD work
• Support and inspire colleagues in their role as care contacts in cases with severe BPSD symptoms
• Plan and lead reflection sessions together with the unit manager
• Participate in network meetings and training days to gain knowledge about research and new findings
• Introduce and mentor new colleagues at the unit
• Mentor students from vocational education for specialist nurse assistants during internship periods
• Support and mentor other units for shorter periods if needed
• Actively contribute to operational development and environmental monitoring

In this role, you will have close contact with residents, relatives, colleagues, healthcare personnel, the dementia team, and external contacts such as ambulance and hospital staff.

Your competence

Qualifications:

• Qualified nurse assistant
• Further education to specialist nurse assistant in dementia care of at least 200 vocational education points or equivalent education
• Experience working with people with cognitive disorders
• Knowledge of BPSD and evidence-based methods and working practices
• Experience in training and mentoring colleagues
• Experience working in IT-based systems
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

Welcome to us

Trädgården's nursing home is part of the elderly care in Jönköping Municipality and is located in the central parts of Huskvarna, close to Lake Vättern, green areas, and public transport. The nursing home consists of a total of eight units, two of which are dementia units, one short-term unit, and five units for special housing.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns a permanent full-time position as a specialist nurse assistant. Start date is by agreement.

Working hours are scheduled for day and evening, both weekdays and weekends. We work with joint planning, which means that all or part of your work shift may, if necessary, be scheduled at another unit within our operation.
