Today, about 320 people work in our department, and we operate on behalf of the technical committee, the environmental and building permit committee, and the municipal executive office. Our mission is important, and together we create the future Järfälla – a place for everyone.

Within the water and wastewater unit, there are 12 employees and it is part of the water and waste department with a total of 20 employees.

Together, we work to develop and manage the public water and wastewater facilities and provide expertise in planning and development issues. The operation manages hydraulic models for all types of pipelines and works to investigate and plan the need for operational and renewal measures. We manage our own investment projects and also serve as a resource for technical support, review, and requirement specification in planning and development projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a stormwater engineer, you will play a central role in the development of the department's stormwater work. You will lead the water and wastewater unit's stormwater group and drive the work forward in both strategic and operational matters. In close collaboration with colleagues and other departments, you will ensure that stormwater issues are handled with a holistic approach and contribute to long-term sustainable solutions.

An important part of the assignment is to coordinate and develop cooperation between the main water authority and other parts of the department from early planning stages to implementation.

You will also serve as specialist support for the technical department and assist with technical expertise in stormwater-related issues, both in ongoing projects and in daily operations.

Your role also includes:

• Defining requirements and acting as technical support in development and investment projects
• Investigating and identifying needs for measures for the public stormwater facilities
• Monitoring compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and guidelines
• Acting as an expert and providing advisory functions regarding stormwater issues within the municipality
• Performing pollution and flow calculations

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• A university degree in civil engineering with a focus on water and wastewater technology or equivalent
• At least five years of experience as a stormwater engineer or in a similar role
• Experience in stormwater investigations and calculations
• Good ability to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders and express yourself well in speech and writing

Meritorious

• Experience with Stormtac, Scalgo, and Mike+
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of stormwater facilities
• Knowledge of development projects and municipal administration
