The Community Planning Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations, responsible for several central community functions. With approximately 450 employees, we work with planning, development, and management of the municipality's infrastructure, properties, parks, and outdoor environments. The administration is also responsible for water and sewage operations, waste management, meal services, cleaning, and emergency services.
The Water and Waste Department has about 35 employees distributed across three units: Water Network/Customer, Water Facilities, and Waste. The laboratory is organized directly under the Water and Waste Manager and serves the Water Facilities unit as a customer. Mjölby Municipality has several wastewater treatment plants and waterworks, and the laboratory currently analyzes wastewater from the treatment plants. The laboratory is located at the treatment plant, and the daily staff group consists of 11 people who share a lunchroom and changing rooms.
Do you want to work closely with the operations in a smaller team where you can both develop the laboratory and ensure the highest quality in every analysis?
RESPONSIBILITIES
The laboratory is accredited according to SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and is located at the Mjölkulla wastewater treatment plant in Mjölby. The laboratory is accredited for the analysis of ammonium, biochemical oxygen demand, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, pH, suspended solids, and organic carbon in wastewater/leachate.

In addition to the accredited analyses, which are part of the operations' self-monitoring program, operational analyses of wastewater and sludge are also performed. The operations are certified according to Revaq, which imposes special requirements on sampling and handling of the sludge.
The tasks are varied, including planning and performing analyses on wastewater from the municipality's four treatment plants and reporting the results to customers. The position includes primary responsibility for the laboratory's development to meet future needs and requirements related to preparedness and safety. This includes expanding the laboratory and planning to build the capacity to perform certain drinking water analyses.

You should have good computer skills, and experience with the management system O3 Lims is an advantage.
