Care Assistant at Hedbacka

Your Mission

As a care assistant with us, you primarily work to provide care and support in the daily lives of the residents.

Your tasks include assisting with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, meals, laundry, cleaning, and contributing to meaningful social activities. You play a central role in creating security, participation, and good quality of life for each individual.

The position also includes documenting and establishing implementation plans. You work in a team with colleagues, unit managers, and nurses to ensure that residents receive their approved services performed with good quality. Some health care tasks are also performed based on delegation.

We work according to the Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC), a method within social services that is based on each person's resources, needs, and goals. IBIC contributes to person-centered support for individuals needing assistance in daily life, regardless of age or disability, in accordance with SoL and LSS.

Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts according to a rolling schedule.

About the Workplace

Hedbacka is a care and nursing home located in the picturesque Söderala, just outside Söderhamn. The facility comprises 49 places, distributed across seven departments – five for individuals with dementia and two for individuals with somatic care needs.

Each department has a cozy common room and dining room where residents can eat their meals and socialize in a safe and familiar environment. For larger communal activities, there is also a spacious gathering room where we organize various events and celebrations.

At Hedbacka, we strive to create a meaningful and joyful everyday life for our residents. Therefore, we regularly offer activities several times a week – everything from music sessions and baking to walks and joint excursions. Activities are planned and adapted based on the interests, needs, and abilities of the residents.

During the summer months, we like to use our large, green garden for outdoor activities and social interaction in a calm and pleasant environment.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained care assistant with a genuine interest in working with people – always with the individual in focus.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in elderly care or with individuals with disabilities. You have a solution-oriented approach, are willing to take initiative, and actively contribute your knowledge and experience to the workgroup. For you, it is natural to contribute to a good working climate.

You are attentive, flexible, and have the ability to adapt your working methods based on each individual's needs. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and meet others in a respectful, smooth, and professional manner. You are observant, listen, and adapt your communication according to the situation and person.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Documentation and reporting are important parts of the job, which means you need to have basic computer skills.
