Transport and Vehicle Department

The Transport and Vehicle Department has the overall responsibility for the area of transport and vehicles.

We manage and offer transport services with the municipality's vehicles and machines and perform various municipal works in the area. The department's assignments are carried out in close collaboration with other administrations and companies within the municipal group. The department consists of four units: the transport unit, the haulier unit, the vehicle service unit, and operational support.

Description

We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented employee to join our team within transport services. The position is combined and involves both work as a driver and a caretaker.

You will be part of the transport service unit where a total of 25 employees work as drivers and caretakers. Together, we deliver service to the municipality's various operations.

Responsibilities

As a caretaker, you will work with:

• Goods handling and internal transport
• Moving furniture and inventory
• Transporting waste and debris
• Other practical service assignments within the municipality

As a driver, you will:

• Transport individuals with disabilities from home or residence to daily activities or school
• Perform passenger transport within the boundaries of Karlstad municipality
• Handle the delivery and collection of letters, packages, and other deliveries to the municipality's operations

A taxi driver's license is required for driving assignments.

The work is varied and driven by the needs of the operations, providing a diverse and meaningful workday.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Class B driver's license
• Taxi driver's license
