The unit is organized into different treatment teams based on cancer diagnosis. Currently, we treat patients with urological and gastroenterological cancers. The treatments have both curative and palliative intentions. Here, you will work with medical technology equipment and administer intravenous medications, including chemotherapy.

In addition to the treatment teams, we have a day emergency team (DJ) that receives patients in need of acute medical assessment or care, for example, due to side effects from their illness or treatment. The team also handles allergic reactions, is responsible for pre- and post-operative care related to subcutaneous port insertion and various types of punctures. We also have medical consultations where contact nurses and nursing assistants work.

You will be employed at the Oncology Outpatient Clinic for Medical Treatment, which consists of various parts, meaning you will work across the entire unit and thus meet patients with different diagnoses. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of nurse, you have significant responsibility and make your own assessments before the planned chemotherapy treatment. In addition to administering treatments, you inform the patient about the chemotherapy, its effects, and possible side effects, as well as managing any hypersensitivity reactions. You are responsible for the long-term planning of the patient's treatment and cancer rehabilitation. The work is conducted according to PAS (patient-responsible nurse), where you, as a nurse, ensure continuity of care.

The job involves a considerable amount of telephone contacts for advice, phone orders, and side effect monitoring. We strive to work in a patient-centered manner, which requires attentiveness from you and means that you conduct supportive and difficult conversations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare and who has worked as a nurse for some years. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have further education in oncology or experience in oncological care or similar fields.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
